Constructed around 1580-1630,
probably in the Innsbruck area.
Case:
Italian construction,
walls cherry wood, lid linden.
Body measurements: 225 x 79 = L x W.

Individual history:
Remodeled around 1620
Into a Flemish type transposing harpsi-
chord (with a rosette from this period),
then restored to its historical condition
with homonymous manuals, converted by
a “monument conservator” around 1920
into what is known as a Bach piano
(16'8'8'4'), inside deformed by frame of
joists, later declared a “war loss,” reappea-
red in private ownership (1980s), restored
to 2 x 8’.
Acquired 1994 from private owner.
Restored in August 1996 by Peter
Zehmisch, Hamburg, and Gerd Sühring,
Aukrug.
